Product Description
Go ahead, dip it, drizzle it, and decorate it with Wilton Candy Melts. These versatile wafers melt easily in a microwave, double-boiler or our Candy Melts Melting Pot. You’ll find they are perfect for creating chocolate and vanilla dipped strawberries, or other fresh fruits like pineapple or kiwi. Use a decorating bag with a tip to pipe designs onto cookies or mini party cakes. You can also use them to hand dip pretzels for a fun, sweet and salty snack. Or try our Wilton Candy Molds to create all kinds of different shapes – just melt, pour in the mold and let cool. Use the candies to top off your iced cupcakes for an extra touch of sweetness. Candy Melt viscosity can be affected by humidity and air temperature, and more problems tend to occur toward the end of summer. We recommend adding small amounts of EZ Thin, melted vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help improve the texture and reduce thickness—start with 1 tsp per 12 oz bag (please note vegetable oil or other room-temperature oils are not recommended). Never add milk, cream, or water to candy as it will seize up and harden. Candy melts can overheat and become "cooked" and harden if heated at too high a temperature - to prevent this, once they start to melt, stir well and let cool for 2-5 minutes and texture should improve. The ideal temperature is between 100 and 105F. We recommend short bursts of heat and frequent stirring to prevent overheating and hardening.

This chocolate is too thick to work with & even with adding some coconut oil to try & make it smooth it fails to work.
I had to toss 3batches out of this chocolate melt due to it being to thick to work with. Its not easy to work with to make chocolate treats like rice crispy dip treats or cake pops.
This chocolate hardens too quick & is not creamy smooth to drizzle or dip a cake pop. It always clumps up.
Ugh such a head ache to try & get it to a creamy smooth texture it just would not do it. It is way to thick to work with.
I threw away 3batches of clumpy chocolate. On my 4th bag I went forward & just try to make mini chocolate bears & only some came out okay.
Oh & the white chocolate is the worst that one really stays thick it's very hard to melt smoothly without burning.
I threw all of the white it was too hard to work with too thick to use for cake pops. And adding oil did not work.
I barely made mini bears with the dark chocolate but that's all. 90% of this 4pack chocolate bundle was thrown away & I checked expiration it said it expired on July 2023.
So it was not due to the chocolate being old. I usually buy premium melting chocolate & I have never had the chocolate lump like this bad. My experience was just horrible.
