My HGTV Crafternoon Episode With Marianne Canada

My HGTV Crafternoon Episode With Marianne Canada

So remember when I told you that I filmed a video at HGTV thanks to Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores? I’m excited to finally reveal the craft that Marianne and I made for Jo-Ann during National Craft Month.

Drumroll please…

Herringbone painted keepsake boxes and trays. Cute, yes?

This is one of those projects that may look hard but is actually really easy to make.

You can see the episode at HGTV.com – it’s super easy and takes just a few supplies that you can find at your local Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store.

The detail is really pretty up close.

I like the unfinished wooden products at Jo-Ann because they’re blank slates. I mean, there are a million ways to customize these guys for your own home or as cute DIY gifts.

I’d say you can make a box or tray in about 45 minutes, plus breaks for paint and glue drying time. Marianne and I used these rectangle pieces from Jo-Ann that are pre-cut which saves a ton of time.

And next Tuesday, you can see Marianne’s last craft for Jo-Ann at HGTV. Hint: it’s a blast from the past.

Thanks again to Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and HGTV for this bucket list experience. It was such a blast!

Thanks, Mary! It's actually really easy to do. There are also hexagon shapes on Joann.com that I think would look really nice on a tray or box.
