Washi Tape Crafts book by Amy Anderson

Hey, I’m in the new book “Washi Tape Crafts: 110 Ways to Decorate Just About Anything” by Amy Anderson! Keep reading to see my Cross-Stitch Canvas and enter to win a copy of this book including 10 rolls of washi tape. Wahoo!

This book is a super cute size and comes packaged with 10 rolls of custom designed washi tape in really cute unique patterns, 18 feet in each roll, so it’s a complete kit and a really good value.

You may already have Amy Anderson’s first book, Mod Podge Rocks! which was the definitive book on making things with Mod Podge. With its 110 projects, “Washi Tape Crafts” is the same for washi tape. There’s a huge section in front that teaches you everything you need to know about working with washi tape, and detailed basic techniques like precision tearing, wrapping, and weaving, how to seal and weatherproof designs to make them permanent, and how to make bows and rosettes like these:

And then the projects! There’s a ton of projects broken into five categories: Goods and Gifts, Home Decor, Jewelry and Fashion, Holidays and Celebrations, and Just for Fun. I want to make the Fluttery Feather Napkin Rings for Thanksgiving…

And I also really want to update Elise’s ugly bedroom ceiling fan with some paint and washi tape like this Statement Ceiling Fan…

My project is on page 80: Cross-Stitch Canvas.

I’m really proud of how it turned out! It’s huge — 24″ x 48″ — and it was a labor of love for sure. I took this photo outside on our front deck because it was too dark inside during the dead of winter to take a photo and I had to mail it to New York that day for the photo shoot. Kind of brightens up the Chicago cold, yes?

I love my washi tape cross-stitch artwork so much that I wish I could have kept it for myself! Anyway, now it’s hanging in Workman Publishing Company’s New York Offices which is the ultimate complement, so I’ll just have to make myself another one.

So back to the projects …another project idea that I really like is this Cheery Chair Upgrade. I’d like to try this at our kid’s art table.

There are like 100 more projects in this book and while I can’t show them all here,  you can see more previews inside the book over at Amazon.com – just click the ‘Look Inside’ button.
