Thanks to Uncommon Goods for sponsoring this post and giveaway!

Every time I open an Uncommon Goods catalog I see something unique and fun and totally gift-able. Like these bottle openers made from recycled baseball bats:

And this Italian cheese making kit.

Here’s your chance to win a $50 gift certificate at Uncommon Goods for unique holiday gifts and stocking stuffers like these. Uncommon Goods is a Brooklyn-based retailer with a mission to support and provide a platform for artists and designers. Most of the products Uncommon Goods carries are created in the USA, and about one-third of its collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials, like this wallet made from recycled bike tubes:

Half of what Uncommon Goods sells is made by hand, and when I looked today that translated into 288 items. I like that Uncommon Goods carries a mix of handmade and manufactured items, all hand-selected for their cleverness and utility, like these Gummy Bear Lights in red, green, purple, pink and blue (which Elise is getting for Christmas, shh, don’t tell!)

With the holidays quickly approaching, Uncommon Goods is an especially great store for unique gifts and stocking stuffers. I am loving these teeny Peruvian Knit Gloves Ornaments to warm up your Christmas tree:

See all their personalized gifts, and I am loving this agate soap which is listed in gifts for women.

And the Kinetic Sand! This stuff is wild and I can’t wait for Elise to unwrap it on Christmas morning. The sand kind of sticks to itself thanks to a secret binding agent – check out this video to see it in action.

In my opinion, Uncommon Goods was the original DIY store. The company started in 1999, way before Etsy or Renegade, and I remember feeling inspired by the artists and designers inside the catalog.

What will you choose to give (or ahem, to keep) this holiday season with this $50 gift certificate to Uncommon Goods? See their Christmas Gift Ideas List.

I've seen rafflecopter used where you can login with your email rather than facebook. I've also seen it where you just click 'enter' as your entry, rather than having to like any facebook pages.... so it is possible to set up rafflecopter to have nothing to do with facebook, if you want.

I prefer not to connect my facebook with contest entries; it's a personal quirk. ;)

Thanks for the tip, lb! I will look into the configuration next time, sounds like Rafflecopter has added some good options. Have a great weekend!

Why does everything have to be completed using Facebook?? I do not and will not become a part of that particular social media

Hi Diane, I hear you, Facebook seems to be everywhere. I decided to use Rafflecopter because it helps manage sweepstakes, validate people's entries, and keep everything honest and fair as opposed to having people comment to enter. Rafflectoper uses Facebook, but I'm open to other suggestions so if you ever see a good alternative I would you please let me know? Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!
