Make a DIY foam coozie drink holder to cool Dad’s bottles and cans. It’s an easy and useful DIY Father’s Day gift idea from the kids! I mean, look at this cute little drawing of daddy…
Elise and I made this DIY coozie together using a bit of foam, white duct tape and markers and gave it to Shane with a 6-pack of his favorite beer. She drew our family of four using permanent markers. Cute, right? Shane thought so and he’s still using it almost a year later.
You can call it a DIY coozie or a Koozie or a a cozy or a can cooler or whatever you want …Dad will be sure to call it his favorite Father’s Day gift.

Supplies for making a DIY foam coozie drink holder for Dad for Father’s Day:
- White foam sheet (I used 6mm)
- White duct tape
- Permanent markers (ultra thin) and permanent markers (chisel tip)
- Craft knife, clear ruler and self-healing mat and good craft scissors
How to make a DIY foam coozie drink holder for Father’s Day:
Measure your white foam sheet and cut a 4″ tall x 10″ wide rectangle using an up-and-down motion with a sharp craft knife.
To make the bottom: trace the inside circle onto a scrap piece of white foam sheet.
Cut out the circle using good craft scissors.
See how it fits right into the beer coozie?
Cover the bottom of the beer coozie with overlapping strips of white duct tape.
I decided to cover the white with some green that I had. This is totally optional; I just thought it would add a little color.
Trim the edges of the duct tape. And that’s it! Your DIY drink coozie is now ready for a cold beer for daddy.
You can pin this DIY drink coozie for later.
